Suite 10A in Mission, Texas. This expansion represents a significant milestone for Social Garden CrossFit as they, under the ownership of Juan Emilio Villarreal and Belinda Alfaro, extend their reach to cater to the health and wellness requirements of the community.
Social Garden Crossfit, a thriving local community business, quickly outgrew its previous space and identified the opportunity to expand its operations at Killam Development’s Riverside Plaza. Juan Emilio Villarreal and Belinda Alfaro, co-owners of Social Garden CrossFit, are committed to providing a positive environment for the community to achieve their health and wellness goals by providing CrossFit classes for all ages and abilities. With their diverse membership, ranging from collegiate athletes, working professionals, and beginners, Social Garden CrossFit offers Kids/Teens/Adults and Masters CrossFit classes in addition to their added value classes such as CrossFit Endurance and CrossFit Strength & Conditioning.
Juan Emilio Villarreal, Owner and Head Coach of Social Garden Crossfit, expressed his excitement about the expansion, saying, “We are grateful for the opportunity to grow and better serve our community. Belinda Alfaro, in addition to being an owner, is also a part of the CrossFit Kids Program and Assistant Coach bringing her love and passion for children to help foster a love for fitness for our youth adds, “We are not only teaching children to jump, squat and run, but we are also laying a blueprint and solid foundation for the rest of their lives by talking about nutrition and the effects it has on their bodies, coaching them on how to be mentally strong and not quitting and of course allowing them time to be Kids, have fun and socialize which has become so important post-Covid times. Our CrossFit programs, both Kids and Adults, bring unity to the community, reinforce the importance of staying active and promote health, wellness, and fitness amongst the local and surrounding communities of the RGV!”
To celebrate the grand opening of the new facility, Social Garden Crossfit and The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, June 23, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. The ceremony will be followed by Social Garden CrossFit’s 2nd Annual competition, “Social Competition 2023,” which will commence at 4:30 pm. This event is set to unite fitness enthusiasts from across Texas and promises to be a remarkable display of athleticism and camaraderie.
During its inaugural year, the Social Competition drew athletes from all over Texas and even from as far as Indiana and Minnesota. This year, an estimated 100 athletes are expected to participate, competing in various divisions including individual male and female levels (Beginners/Scaled/Rx), Masters, Coed Teams, CrossFit Kids and Teens, and CrossFit Adaptive. The Social Competition has gained recognition as the only Licensed CrossFit Event in Texas back to the Rio Grande Valley for the second year in a row.
