In the spirit of community and giving, the Killam organization, in collaboration with Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), is thrilled to announce a partnership aimed at filling Dusty’s Food Pantry, the on-campus food pantry, to ensure that no student goes hungry or lacks the essentials to thrive. As part of this initiative, Killam will generously contribute funds to Dusty’s Food Pantry, coordinate drop-off locations with their tenants for city-wide exposure, and also set up a station for more donations in their office on University Blvd. and at the free TAMIU Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thursday, Nov. 21 from 6 – 8 p.m. on the Sue and Radcliffe Killam Library front lawn.
To kickstart the campaign, the Killam organization launched a Food Donation Drop-off Campaign featuring tenants at The Shoppes at Winfield, The Shoppes at Shiloh, Loop 20 Plaza, Paseo Casa Blanca and Room for More. Throughout the month of November, tenants at Killam Development plazas will serve as designated drop-off locations for canned goods and non-perishable items. These donations will directly contribute to Dusty’s Food Pantry, a crucial resource for TAMIU students facing food and basic essentials emergencies and financial hardships.
Participating Tenant Drop-Off Locations:
- Caro Linda Boutique 3402 E Del Mar Blvd Suite 150
- Shop 195 3402 E Del Mar Blvd Suite 190

Killam Development extends an enormous thank you to the tenants that are participating and for giving back to the community in a meaningful way. Their tenants represent generosity, service, and community, and Killam is proud to extend this partnership to them.
The Food Donation Drop-off Campaign culminated at the TAMIU Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, November 21. Attendees were encouraged to bring canned goods and non-perishable items to contribute to the campaign while enjoying the festive atmosphere of the holiday season.
The TAMIU Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony is a multiple-tree lighting ceremony that commemorates the start of the holiday season. It featured a special visit by Santa Claus with music, carolers, a live radio station featuring the Grinch, as well as performances by local artists. Free delicious seasonal treats and hot beverages were also available courtesy of TAMIU and Killam.
“We are proud to partner with TAMIU to support Dusty’s Food Pantry and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students in need,” said Alejandra U. Martinez, Vice President of Marketing at Killam Development. “Our donation is just the beginning, and we invite the community to join us in this effort.”
Dusty’s Food Pantry, established in October 2017, plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity and wellness on the TAMIU campus, ensuring students can focus on their education without the added worry of hunger or inadequate personal care products, including dental and hygiene care items.
